I was brought up to give back. I began community organizing as a child, hosting holiday events in parks for underserved communities and I volunteered as an English tutor for Liberian refugees while in high school. I have volunteered with my local Grange as an organizer and officer, helping with projects ranging from agricultural displays at state and regional fairs, to building stairs for disabled elders to access their homes. I currently volunteer at a weekly local food distribution program, and I provide on-call elder care for members of my community in need.
